Stand-Alone Galvanizing System
ZINGA offers exceptional protection comparable to traditional galvanizing, eliminating the need for topcoats. Although ZINGA is available only in grey (the natural zinc color), its key advantage lies in the ability to recoat it effortlessly at any time with minimal preparation. This ensures the coating's integrity remains uncompromised (refer to Recharging ZINGA).
This standalone application is ideal for structures that cannot undergo conventional galvanizing due to size, inaccessibility, or other constraints. It is also widely used on intricate structures like wrought iron gates and sculptures, where a high-quality surface finish is necessary without drilling or additional preparation.
As a Primer in Duplex Systems
When combined with a compatible topcoat in a duplex system, ZINGA significantly enhances coating durability. In such setups, ZINGA serves as an active primer (minimum 60-80 µm DFT) beneath the passive protection of the topcoat. This dual-layer system ensures that ZINGA remains dormant until the topcoat is compromised, preventing corrosion creep or rust bubbles, and extending the lifespan of the topcoat.

As a Shop Primer
Applied at 30-40 µm DFT, ZINGA functions as an effective shop primer. Steel structures treated with ZINGA do not require reblasting before further coating, whether it’s an additional layer of ZINGA for cathodic protection or any other compatible paint. This makes ZINGA an efficient and cost-effective solution for protecting steel during manufacturing and assembly.

Repairing Worn or Damaged Galvanized Structures
ZINGA is an excellent solution for repairing worn or damaged hot-dip galvanized or metal-sprayed surfaces. Its protective mechanism works seamlessly with traditional galvanizing, as both rely on zinc. Instead of replacing corroded structures, you can rejuvenate their protection by applying ZINGA to decontaminated, roughened surfaces, effectively “recharging” the coating.
Protection for Reinforcement Bars (Rebars)
ZINGA provides superior protection for rebars used in concrete, particularly in regions with saline aggregates. Coating rebars with ZINGA before embedding them in concrete enhances their corrosion resistance significantly, without affecting their pull-out strength. Independent laboratory tests confirm ZINGA delivers at least twice the corrosion protection compared to epoxy-coated rebars.
Enhanced Durability with Topcoats
While ZINGA's natural grey color may not suit every preference, pairing it with a compatible topcoat delivers long-lasting protection. ZINGA begins its active protection only when the topcoat is breached, ensuring there’s no rust or corrosion creep beneath the surface. This synergy greatly prolongs the topcoat’s lifespan.
